Common causes of login issues

Login problems usually stem from one of the following:

  • An unstable internet connection.
  • Incorrect login credentials (password).
  • Corrupted application data.
  • An outdated app version.

Before you start: Make sure you have your 12-word backup phrase written down and stored safely. Several of the steps below (and password recovery in general) require restoring your wallet with it. Without your backup phrase, a lost password cannot be recovered by anyone.

Step 1: Check your connection and app version

First, make sure your device has a stable, active internet connection. Try opening another app or website to confirm. If you are on Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data, or vice versa.

Next, verify that your device meets the minimum requirements for Atomic Wallet, that your operating system is up to date, and that you are running the latest version of the app. Outdated versions can sometimes cause login failures.

Step 2: Verify your password

Carefully re-enter your password. Atomic Wallet passwords are case-sensitive, so double-check for typos, incorrect capitalization, or accidental spaces.

If you have forgotten your password, the only way to regain access is to restore your wallet using your 12-word backup phrase. Your backup phrase is your ultimate backup and the key to your funds.

Step 3: Clear app data or reinstall

Corrupted app data can often cause login problems. Follow the instructions for your platform:

Go to your device's Settings → Apps (or Applications), find Atomic Wallet, select Storage, then tap Clear Cache and Clear Data. Try logging in again afterward.

Try offloading the app first: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Atomic Wallet → Offload App. This clears the cache without deleting your documents and data. If that doesn't help, uninstall the app completely and reinstall it from the App Store.

Completely uninstall the Atomic Wallet application from your computer. Then download the latest official version from the Atomic Wallet website and reinstall it.

Important: After clearing data or reinstalling, you will need to restore your wallet using your 12-word backup phrase and set a new password. This does not delete your funds — they are stored on the blockchain, not in the app.

Step 4: Contact support

If you have followed all the steps above and still cannot log in, please contact Atomic Wallet support at support@atomicwallet.io. Provide as much detail as possible:

  • The specific device and operating system version you are using.
  • The exact error message you receive (a screenshot is highly recommended).
  • A list of the troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
  • When the issue first started.

What Atomic Wallet can and cannot do

Atomic Wallet can:

  • Guide you through troubleshooting steps to resolve common login issues.
  • Help you understand the process of restoring your wallet using your backup phrase.
  • Provide links to official and secure downloads of the application.

Atomic Wallet cannot:

  • Recover your password if you have lost it and do not have your 12-word backup phrase.
  • Access your wallet or your funds. Atomic Wallet is non-custodial — you are solely in control of your private keys and backup phrase.
  • Provide you with your backup phrase or private keys, as we do not store them.
