How to find and copy your Monero (XMR) Private View Key

Read this first. Your wallet shows several Monero keys on the same screen. Support only ever needs your Private View Key — this key lets us view your incoming transactions to help resync your balance. It can never be used to move or spend your funds.

Never share your Spend Key or your 12-word backup phrase — not with support, not with anyone. Anyone who has your Spend Key or backup phrase can take all of your funds. Atomic Wallet will never ask for them.

When you need this

If your XMR balance is not displaying correctly, our team may ask for your Private View Key to perform a manual rescan on our side. You only ever need to share the View Key — nothing else.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Atomic Wallet and go to Settings.

  2. Under Wallet and Security, tap Security.

  3. Tap Private keys & Backup.

  4. Read the warning, tick “I’ve read and understood”, then tap Show Private Keys.
  5. In the search field, type XMR and select Monero (XMR).

  6. Tap Show Private Key. You will now see several keys listed together.

  7. Find the one labelled VIEW PRIVATE KEY. This is the only key you need.

  8. Copy only VIEW PRIVATE KEY key. Do not copy any other key shown.
Before you send it, double-check:
  • Send the key as plain text, not a screenshot. A screenshot may accidentally capture your other keys.
  • Make sure you copied the View Key only — compare the label carefully.
  • If you are unsure which key is which, do not send anything — message support first and we will help you identify the correct one.

What we will never ask for

Atomic Wallet support will never ask for your Spend Key, your Private Key used to spend funds, or your 12-word backup phrase. If anyone — even someone claiming to be Atomic Wallet — asks for these, it is a scam. Do not send them, and report the message to us.
