Why Deposits May Be Unavailable for Prediction Wallets

If you're unable to deposit funds into your Predictions balance in Atomic Wallet, there are a few common reasons — most of them easy to resolve. This guide explains what the Predictions balance is, why a deposit might be unavailable, and what you can do about it.

What the Predictions balance is

The Predictions feature in Atomic Wallet gives you access to Polymarket, a prediction market platform where you trade on the outcomes of real-world events. To take part, you fund a dedicated Predictions balance, which is held in USDC.e on the Polygon network on a Polymarket proxy account linked to your wallet.

You add funds to this balance using the Deposit button in the Predictions (Poly) section. If that deposit isn't going through, one of the reasons below is usually why.

For a full overview of how the feature works, see our guide on what Polymarket is in Atomic Wallet.

Reason 1: You don't have USDC to deposit

The most common reason is simply not having any USDC in your wallet to move into the Predictions balance. Deposits are made in USDC, so if your USDC balance is zero, there's nothing to deposit.

What to do: The app offers built-in options to get USDC quickly:

  • Buy USDC — purchase USDC directly through a third-party provider in the app.
  • Swap to USDC — exchange another cryptocurrency you already hold for USDC.

Once you have USDC available, return to the Predictions section and try the deposit again.

Note: Keep in mind the minimum bet on Polymarket is $5 USDC, and a small service fee applies when opening a position. Make sure you deposit enough to cover the amount you intend to bet.

Reason 2: Regional restrictions

Polymarket is a third-party service with its own availability rules, and it isn't accessible in every country or region due to local regulations. If the feature is restricted in your location, deposits and trading may be unavailable regardless of your balance.

What to do:

  • If you're using a VPN, note that it may cause the service to detect a restricted or mismatched region. Try disabling it and confirming whether the feature is available in your actual location.
  • Regional availability is set by Polymarket, not by Atomic Wallet. If the service is not available in your region, we're unable to bypass that restriction.

Reason 3: A technical error or failed deposit

If you have USDC and are in a supported region but the deposit still won't go through, it may be a temporary technical issue.

  1. Check your internet connection. A stable connection is needed to process the deposit.
  2. Update Atomic Wallet. Make sure you're running the latest version of the app.
  3. Restart the app. Fully close and reopen Atomic Wallet, then try again.
  4. Wait and retry. Temporary network congestion on Polygon can delay or block deposits. Waiting a short while and retrying often resolves it.

If your deposit transaction was submitted but appears stuck, check its status — the funds are held safely on-chain until the transaction confirms. If it remains pending for an unusually long time, contact support with the transaction details.

What Atomic Wallet can and cannot do

Atomic Wallet can:

  • Provide built-in options to buy or swap for USDC so you can fund your Predictions balance.
  • Help troubleshoot technical issues with deposits within the app.
  • Guide you on checking the status of a pending deposit transaction.

Atomic Wallet cannot:

  • Bypass regional restrictions imposed by Polymarket or by local regulations.
  • Guarantee deposit availability, as this depends on the third-party service and network conditions.
  • Reverse or recover funds sent outside the intended deposit process.
  • Control the Polymarket service itself, including its availability, rules, or outages.
