How to Recover Funds Linked to Your Atomic Wallet Address
Beware of recovery fraud! No third-party company, service, "fund recovery agent," or individual can recover cryptocurrency lost to an incorrect address, fraud, or irreversible transaction. Anyone — including someone claiming to represent Atomic Wallet — who offers to recover your funds for a fee is a fraudster. Never share your 12-word backup phrase or private keys with anyone, and never send an upfront payment to "unlock" or "recover" funds.
If you sent cryptocurrency to a wallet address but the funds are not showing in your Atomic Wallet balance, this guide will help you locate them. It's important to understand that "recovery" here means making funds visible in your wallet — but only if they are present in an address controlled by your Atomic Wallet's 12-word backup phrase. Funds sent to an address outside your wallet cannot be recovered.

Why your funds might not be visible
There are several reasons funds may not appear in your balance:
- Incorrect address. Funds were sent to an address that does not belong to your Atomic Wallet.
- Wrong network. Funds were sent using a different blockchain network than expected.
- Synchronization issue. Your wallet may not be fully synced with the blockchain.
- Token not added. The specific token or coin has not yet been added to your Atomic Wallet interface.
- Transaction not confirmed. The transaction is still pending or has failed on the blockchain.
- Funds sent to an exchange or third-party address. The address belongs to another service, not your personal Atomic Wallet.
Step 1: Verify the address and transaction status
Before anything else, confirm where the funds actually are on the blockchain.
- Confirm the address. Double-check the destination address. Is it an address generated by your Atomic Wallet? You can find your receiving address for each coin inside the wallet.
- Use a block explorer. Open a reputable block explorer for the relevant cryptocurrency — for example, Etherscan for Ethereum or BscScan for BNB Smart Chain. Enter the transaction hash (TXID) or the wallet address.
- Check the transaction status. Verify that the transaction was successful and confirmed on the blockchain. Note the exact amount and destination address.
- Confirm ownership. If the explorer shows funds in the address, make sure this address is one of the receiving addresses generated by your Atomic Wallet's 12-word backup phrase. If it is not, the funds are not in your wallet and cannot be recovered through Atomic Wallet.
Important: If the address does not belong to your Atomic Wallet, the funds are not under your control. Confirmed blockchain transactions are irreversible and cannot be reversed by Atomic Wallet.
Step 2: Make funds visible in your wallet
If the block explorer confirms the funds are in an address controlled by your Atomic Wallet but you still don't see them, try the following:
- Add a custom token. Some tokens need to be added manually. Go to the Wallet tab, scroll down, and select Add token. Enter the contract address, symbol, and decimals.
- Refresh your wallet balance. Close and reopen Atomic Wallet, or switch to a different coin and then back.
- Update Atomic Wallet. Make sure you are running the latest version of the application.
- Re-import your wallet. As a last resort for visibility issues, you can re-import your wallet using your 12-word backup phrase (Settings → Private Keys → Backup phrase). Make sure your backup phrase is securely stored offline before proceeding.
Note: When re-importing, enter the exact 12-word backup phrase originally associated with your wallet. Even a minor spelling mistake, missing word, incorrect word order, or extra space may create a different wallet with different addresses and a zero balance.
What Atomic Wallet can and cannot do
Atomic Wallet can:
- Help troubleshoot visibility issues for funds confirmed on the blockchain to be in an address derived from your 12-word backup phrase.
- Guide you on checking transaction statuses and address balances on block explorers.
- Assist with general wallet functionality and synchronization problems.
Atomic Wallet cannot:
- Recover funds sent to an incorrect or unintended address not controlled by your 12-word backup phrase. Confirmed blockchain transactions are irreversible.
- Reverse or cancel any cryptocurrency transactions.
- Access or control funds not associated with your specific 12-word backup phrase.
- Provide private keys for addresses not generated by your Atomic Wallet.
- Retrieve funds sent to addresses belonging to exchanges or other third-party services — contact that specific service instead.
