I don't see my THETA on my balance

THETA was initially launched as a ERC-20 token based on the Ethereum blockchain. It was migrated to its own chain later on, which resulted in a standalone THETA coin. Atomic Wallet doesn't support the mainnet THETA coin.

What's the difference between the two THETAs?

The THETA token is running on the Ethereum blockchain. All Ethereum-based (aka ERC-20) tokens share the same technology, so you can use Atomic Wallet for any one of them. That's not true for all standalone coins, though, which get supported by wallets on a per-coin basis. We aren't supporting the THETA coin at this time. On the other hand, the ERC-20 token isn't supported by the exchange system in the app, as the option is provided by our third-party partners.

You still won't be able to trade your THETA even if you manually add it to your wallet as a custom token. Our exchange partners can only send you the mainnet THETA coin, which isn't yet supported by our wallet and won't show up in the app. Thus, we strongly recommend against trying to exchange your THETA in Atomic Wallet for now.

I didn't know that and am now missing my THETA

If you've sent some THETA to your ETH address in Atomic Wallet or have bought THETA in the Exchange tab, don't worry! Your funds aren't lost in space. It just might take you a few more clicks to see your balance. Now, you'll need to export your ETH private key and unlock your account using THETA's official web wallet. Without further ado, let's get right to that. Make sure to transfer your coins elsewhere once you're done!

How do I see my THETA balance?

  1. Pick Settings on the left sidebar and switch to the Private keys tab in the top panel. Enter your password and hit the Show private keys button.

  2. Search for ETH and copy your private key.

  3. Open the THETA Wallet website. Paste your private key into the field and make up a temporary session password. This password will only be used within the current session; you'll need to enter it again a bit later to withdraw your THETA. Finally, click on Unlock Wallet.

Voila! You should now see your THETA balance.
Web wallets are never safe, though. We strongly recommend that you download the official THETA Wallet mobile app ( iOS/Android), set up an account, and transfer your coins there.
